Céleste Design was commissioned to transform a disused basement patio in this St James’s residence into a refined garden tea room. Inspired by the client’s cultural heritage, the space was reimagined with the addition of a skylight to invite natural light, creating a warm and serene setting for tea rituals and quiet reflection. The design focused on earthy finishes, a sense of bringing the outside in, and the integration of a bio-ethanol fireplace to add warmth and atmosphere, resulting in an inviting space that celebrates the art of the tea ceremony.
What was once an unused basement patio is now a cherished sanctuary for tea rituals, shaped by the client’s cultural roots. By welcoming natural light and warmth into the space, we created an environment that feels both grounded and otherworldly.
